Pukhraj Singh (b. 1983) is the founder of Abroo and the convener of Punjabi Subaltern Summit (www.subaltern.in). He is also recognized as a cyber-security expert. In the aftermaths of 26/11-Mumbai attacks, Pukhraj was laterally inducted into a security agency under the Office of the National Security Advisor, Prime Minister’s Office, to bolster India’s cyber-defense capabilities. His accomplishments in the government were lauded by the top echelon of the national security establishment. Prior to that, he was associated with well-known IT security firms across India, Canada and the US. He has been a speaker at international security conferences and is often cited by the media. Satnam Singh Kainth (b. 1961) is the chief ideologue at Abroo. He is an accomplished politician and social activist, who has worked fervently for the emancipation, empowerment and mobilization of the downtrodden and weaker sections of Punjab. Mr. Kainth debuted into politics early, at the age of nineteen, when he contested and won the college elections in 1979. Since then, there has been no looking back. In his early twenties, he was appointed as Chairman of the youth wings of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Bahujan Samaj Swabhiman Sangharsh Samiti (BS4). BSP also nominated him as a member of the National Youth Council of India (NYCI), which worked under the chairmanship of hon’ble Prime Ministers VP Singh and Chandrasekhar. In 1992, he was elected as a Member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly and was unanimously appointed as the Leader of the Opposition. After this successful stint in state politics, he decided to enter the national arena.
